Odisseia Nacional - TDNMII

Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, located in Lisbon, is one of the most renowned theatres in Portugal by its history and cultural program of excellence. Odisseia Nacional will take the 2023 theatre program on a journey through Portugal's diverse regions enriching the country's cultural landscape. I was challenged to create immersive experiences and visual narratives for six manifestos that introduced the project objectives, cultural program and localizations.
Starting from the project's visual identity, I've taken the topographic map aesthetic further by incorporating movement and applying it to different concepts.
With some research and experimentation, I've developed a technique that transforms video and image inputs into topographic aesthetic outputs. I've collaborated with Gonçalo Fialho (UIVO) to create the visual narratives and Design and with Kevin Pires for the musical production.
